Billy Joel gives moral support to ex- wife Christie Brinkley.

Billy Joel has kept a low profile, until Christie Brinkley sought him out in the midst of her divorce with Peter Cook. The media reports have put him in the spotlight again.
Brinkley spent her Fourth of July at Billy Joel’s home in New York. She took Alexa Joel, 20, to visit and party. This was not unusual as although Brinkley had divorced Joel in 1994 after 9 years of marriage, they had remained friends. Brinkley had attended Joel’s wedding to Katie Lee in 2004.
Meanwhile, Peter Cook spent his Fourth of July with his girlfriend Suzanne Shaw and son Jack. The trio went for a cruise on his boat, The Sweet Freedom.
A forensic psychiatrist had testified in court that it was his opinion that Peter Cook had issues and might not be a good candidate to get custody of Jack and Sailor Cook. He also expressed his view that Christie Brinkley had issues too. He said that both Cook and Brinkley needed therapy. He thought Brinkley should get custody of her children.
