Andrea Jaeger, the celebrity tennis prodigy who gave up everything to become a nun, has given an interview to claim that she threw the famous match against Martina Navratilova.

Andrea was 18 in 1983 when she decided that she would lose the match on purpose. On the day of the match, Andrea’s father questioned her over an issue. Andrea feared a beating and ran away. She went next door, where her tennis opponent, Martina Navratilova was staying.

Andrea, 41, confessed that she suddenly realized that she had affected Martina’s routine and mental preparation for the game, so she felt guilty. She made up her mind to lose at the Wimbledon finals. Andrea revealed that she felt satisfied after her faked loss.
