Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club faces a lawsuit.
Posted on July 3, 2008Jay –Z started his nightclub called 40/40 in 2003 and it has run into some problems. It had faced a lawsuit for unauthorized public performance of musical compositions. This time, there is another lawsuit on a different matter.
Some present and past employees have filed a class action suit. They claimed that 40/40 owners may have violated federal wage and labor laws. The workers claimed they did not receive Overtime pay, had no proper allocated break time and made some other complaints.
The plaintiffs’ lawyer told that 10-20 workers have grouped together for the class action suit. A representative for the nightclub, 40/40, said that the Club was innocent. The Club’s management will fight the case and let the judge determine the outcome.
