Surata Zuri McCants to Marry American Idol’s Ruben Studdard

Surata Zuri McCants and American Idol winner Ruben Studdard are getting married. The couple has already obtained a marriage license and will walk down the isle Saturday.

Ruben Studdard, known as the “velvet teddy bear” is planning a huge Southern wedding Saturday with fiancée Surata Zuri McCants – with at least 20 groomsmen at his side.

The American Idol champ will marry McCants, 30, at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.

Studdard and his groomsmen will wear black tuxedos from local outfitter Mr. Burch Formal Wear, the source says. The groomsmen will wear black shirts with black vests while Studdard will wear a white vest and a white bow tie.

Studdard, 29, a Birmingham native, and Surata Zuri McCants received their marriage license on Monday at the Shelby County Probate Office in Columbiana, Ala.
