Stephanie Izard is first woman Top Chef.

Stephanie Izard won the “Top Chef” finale on Wednesday night, June 11. She is the first woman chef to win this competition.

Stephanie, from Chicago, was almost ruined by her choice in making the ricotta pound cake dessert. The judges did not like it but enjoyed her 3 other courses on her menu.

The 3 chef contestants were paired with 3 famous chefs to assist them on the first day of the challenge. On the second day of the challenge, the chefs were absent. The excuse given was that they were sick. The contestants worked frantically alone as they realized that they had to be independent in order to win the contest.

The judges tasted all the dishes and finally decided that Stephanie Izard was the winner.
