Some US magazines have reported that Paul Newman, 83, is suffering from cancer. He had ill health for several months.

Paul was supposed to direct a production of John Steinbeck’s “Of Mice And Men” but has withdrawn because of his health.

Paul Newman’s friends have told 2 US magazines that he was diagnosed with lung cancer at Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, in New York. This medical center was near to Connecticut. Paul and his wife, Joanne Woodward, live in Connecticut.

Paul’s close relatives and friends had kept silent on his illness to protect his privacy. His spokesman has dismissed his hospitalization as being minor treatments for hair loss and athlete’s foot.
