Gucci and Calvin Klein designers win best awards.

Francisco Costa, a designer for Calvin Klein, has been voted the best women’s wear designer at the Council of Fashion Designer of American awards. The event was organized on Monday night, June 2.

Eva Mendes, Victoria Beckham and Maggie Gyllenhaal were among the presenters for the prizes to the award winners. Eva wore a white gown designed by Francisco Costa. Victoria wore a mini dress created by Marc Jacobs. Maggie wore a green and black checkerboard tunic for Proenza Schouler.

Tom Ford, the designer for Gucci, won the award for best men’s wear designer of the year.

The judges for the awards included editors, stylists and retailers. They had voted for Francisco Costa for the second consecutive year.

New York’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg attended to receive an award for his dedication to keep NYC’s garment industry flourishing.
