George Takei & Brad Altman announce wedding details.

George Takei has announced that he would marry his long time partner, Brad Altman, on September 14, 2008. He has asked Walter Koenig, his co-star in Star Trek, to be his best man.

George has invited the former cast members of Star Trek to his wedding. George said that the Matron Of Honor would be Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura). He expressed his wish for a romantic wedding ceremony. He said that he had planned to propose to Brad as he had anticipated the positive ruling on same sex marriages.

George told the story of how Brad proposed to him. They were in the kitchen of their home when they heard the good news from the TV report. Brad knelt down in front of him to propose. George then told Brad that he had beaten him to it. George had meant to be the first to propose.
