In the trial, Lisa Van Allen said that she was 17 when she met rapper R. Kelly. She said that 2 sexual encounters from 1998, 1999 or 2000 were videotaped. The tape with the prosecution did not belong to any of these encounters.

Lisa Van Allen first met R. Kelly in late 1997 or early 1998. She was close to Kelly and toured with him as he went for his performances. In 1998, Lisa met the alleged under-aged victim. The threesome shared a sexual encounter which was taped. The sex tape that the prosecution had was not the same tape as the encounter which she described.

Lisa identified the singer and the alleged girl in the prosecution’s tape. She said that the tape looked like it was made in 1998 because Kelly and the girl looked the same way as she had remembered them. Lisa identified the room in the sex tape as Kelly’s log cabin themed room.
