Anita Ekberg captivates in Screaming Mimi.

Anita Ekberg played the role of an exotic dancer who attracted a stalker in New Orleans in the movie, “Screaming Mimi.” This 1958 movie was shown on TCM, on Saturday, May 31. For those who missed it, you can still try to get it from the stores, other resources or wait for the repeat telecast.

Screaming Mimi was part of an important milestone in American film history. It belonged to the era of film noir. This motion picture was made using the elements of a poverty steeped urban setting. The cinematography was done in serious tones. It served to evoke the feelings of pessimism and despair.

Anita Would be 77 in 2008. She had retired long ago from the entertainment industry. She lives in Rome, Italy.
