Robbie “Kaptain” Knievel, son of the late motorcycle stuntman Evel Knievel, has made good his vow to jump over 24 delivery trucks on Saturday, May 24, 2008.

Robbie Knievel, 46, had calculated that he needed a speed of 95 miles per hour to clear the 200 feet jump. The audience cheered and there was plenty of fanfare at Kings Island, near Cincinnati.

Robbie touched down safely although his landing was hard. He broke his father’s record that was set in in 1975. Evel Knievel jumped over 115 feet that was lined with 14 buses. This feat was performed at the same venue, Kings Island. Evel, 69, had ailing health and passed away in 2007.

Robbie dedicated his stunt to his Dad, US war veterans, the military service men and service women. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend.
