Minnesota Governor, Tim Pawlenty, to decide on a ban.
Posted on May 25, 2008The Minnesota Governor, Tim Pawlenty, has received a bill that was awaiting his action. The bill proposed to ban Minnesota’s drivers from texting, reading or sending electronic messages.
This ban on texting would be made into a rule in transportation. Governor Tim Pawlenty had a dateline to sign or veto the bill. He had not revealed his plans.
The bill proposed to make the act of texting while driving a petty misdemeanor. DFL Representative, Frank Hornstein of Minneapolis, sponsored this bill. He said that he believed that texting while driving was unacceptable.
The Public Safety’s Ofice of Traffic Safety said that texting was a great distraction for drivers.
