George Takei will marry Brad Altman.

George Takei has announced his marriage plans to marry his partner of 21 years, Brad Altman. George, the former Star Trek star, is now 71.

George revealed on his website that his dream became a reality with California Supreme Court’s ruling for same sex marriage couples. He had confessed to his gay preferences in 2005.

George said that Brad helped him to provide care for his sickly mother who had lived with them for the last few years of her life. The gay couple has yet to decide where they would get married. Their wedding date is unfixed.

The first same sex celebrity couple to announce their wedding plans on the same day the California Supreme Court overturned the ban on gay and lesbian marriages was Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. The post is here.
