Senator Edward Kennedy (Ted Kennedy) hospitalized after seizures.

Posted on May 17, 2008

Senator Edward M. Kennedy had a seizure on Saturday morning, May 17, 2008. He was airlifted in a chopper flight from Cape to Boston. Edward, 76, had another seizure aboard.

Sen. Ted Kennedy’s office released a press statement. It said that the Senator was undergoing a series of tests at the Massachusetts General Hospital to determine the cause of the seizure.

In October 2007, doctors at the same hospital did surgery to clear a partially blocked artery in his neck. The doctors said that it could recur in the following few years.

Ted Kennedy was married twice and had 3 children and 2 stepchildren. He has 2 surviving sisters, Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Jean Kennedy Smith.

Ted Kennedy’s reputation was once damaged by the death of Mary Jo Kopechne in 1969. Ted was the driver in the car accident. The accident was reported after 10 hours and this marred his reputation.
