Paula Abdul misled us earlier on Tuesday night by criticizing Jason Castro. Perhaps the viewers decided to turn in more votes to rescue Jason.

It was Brooke White who had the axe after all. Ryan Seacrest defended Paula and voiced his support for her despite the entire internet’s condemnation of her mistake. Paula had the last laugh when Brooke White was voted off.

Brooke White was speechless and overcome by tears when she received her marching orders. She could only say “Thank you” repeatedly, like a broken tape recorder. Ryan helped to wipe her tears away in a vain, last show of affection. Kristy Lee Cook was in the studio’s audience.
