Coldplay gives “Violet Hill” away freely.
Posted on April 30, 2008Coldplay, the British rock band, had promised their fans that their new song, Violet Hill, would be available for downloading from 12:15 pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. This free gift would coincide with the debut on Radio 1. Gwyneth Paltrow’s husband Chris Martin is in the band.
The band did not anticipate that their website would crash. Nine hundred had downloaded the song before the problem started. The lucky ones goaded the rest with praises for the song and this made the others envious.
Coldplay’s new album, Viva La Vida, would be promoted with free shows in London and New York. The dates were set for June. There would be a competition on Coldplay’s website where winners get free tickets.
