Cheri Oteri’s dad, Gaetano Thomas Oteri, was killed by Richard Fagan.

UPDATE- The charges have been dropped against Richard Fagen as of January 2009.

Cheri Oteri’s Dad, Gaetano Thomas Oteri, 69, was supposedly murdered by Richard Fagan, a songwriter. This happened last Saturday, on April 26, 2008. Richard was alleaged to have stabbed Gaetano with a pocketknife.

Gaetano and Richard were friends before this incident. They were also room mates. They collaborated on songs. Richard also publicly credited his old friend Gaetano for helping through his rough times. Gaetano was also known as Tommy, from his middle name Thomas. Tommy was a Nashville music producer at the time of his death.

Richard was arrested for DUI on the same Saturday night of the stabbing.

Cheri Oteri would be best remembered for her part in Saturday Night Live. She left the show in 2000.
