Russell Brand once said that he would not be adapting himself to the world. Rather, he expected the world to adapt to him. His saying has proven itself to be true. His movie, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, has become a hit in the US. He played his natural self and the audiences warmed up to him.

Observers noted that Russell actually played himself in his character in the movie. Russell has admitted that it was true. He would like to carry on playing himself to introduce himself to others

Russell was a self confessed sex addict who went to rehab to reform his addictions. He said that he liked American women. In the movie, he had sex scenes with his co-star Kristen Bell, but he was not naked with her. The sex acts that they did on film were uncomfortable, embarrassing and costly. He said that he was disappointed at that time. He has since learnt to become comfortable and at ease with Kristen.
