Laure Manaudou’s bikini photo/ news.
Posted on April 23, 2008Laure Manaudou, from France, was the world record holder for the 200 meters freestyle. She would not be competing for the same event in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. She withdrew from France’s national championships for the 200 meters. This served as the qualifier for the Olympics and since she pulled out, she would not qualify to swim in the Olympics for the 200 meters event. She would still compete in the 100 meters event.
Laure clocked 4:06.67 for her 400 meters. She lost out to Italy’s Federica Pellegrini, who clocked a better time at 4:01.53. This happened at the European championships in Eindhoven, in March.
On Tuesday, April 22, Laure’s time for the 200 meters was 2:00.08. She came in fourth and that influenced her decision not to compete in the Olympics for the 200 meters.
Laure had cried after the results were known. She said that it was tough to face the truth. She was waiting for the new swimsuits. Laure was under a contract with Arena and the company had not given her the new swimsuit yet. It would only be available in June. Tyr and Speedo have released their new swimsuits.
