American Idol eliminated another contestant.

Syesha Mercado, Brooke White and Kristy Lee Cook were among the bottom three with the lowest number of votes. Ryan Seacrest asked Simon Cowell to predict who would be the loser. He addressed Kristy directly and pointedly to give his forecast.

Kristy cried but managed to hold her composure. When she had to sing her swan song “Forever”, she sat on the edge of the judges’ desk, right in front of Simon. She suspected that Simon was responsible. She sang the opening lines of “Forever” to Simon and held his hand for a while as a goodbye gesture.
