Christina Silva filed a lawsuit against the Miss California pageant director/other responsible bodies and she sought a sum of $500,000 for public humiliation, mental stress, lost opportunities, lost prizes and lost monies.
Christina Silva was originally crowned Miss California 2008 last Nov. 25, 2007. Three days after that, the pageant director told her that there was a mistake and they confisicated her crown. The accounting department made a mistake with the names and another contestant, Raquel Beezley, was the real winner.
Christina claimed that the pageant director hated her for her Ecuadoran and Mexican roots. However, she seemed to forget that Raquel Beezley is a quarter Filipino and mixed descent too.

This girl needs to get over it already!! She’ll NEVER be Miss California and now she’s just making herself look bad. Yeah it’s pretty messed up how things went but get over it! She said the entire situation was embarrassing and blah blah blah… what’s even MORE embarrassing is the fact that she’s going out her way to sue AFTER she got a modeling contract and FREE everything from Ken Paves and Prive!! Chick is plain pathetic… and I actually felt bad for the girl when I first heard the story! LOL
The Miss California officials are absolutely unethical, and deserve to be sued. Who is going to believe the story that there was a miscalculation? It is possible for the officials to prefer one minority ethnic group over another. I believe Miss Silva is correct in her observations that the officials were prejudiced. By all means she should be compensated for her duress. Next time, the officials will be more careful to come up with the better story —– or better yet, they won’t “mess around” with a Latina.

Wilson and Harding took out a lease on land on the east side of Griffith Park, where the Gene Autry Museum, LA Zoo, and Wilson and Harding Golf Course now exist. When Wilson and Harding could not make the payments on the lease my father King George the 6th bought up the property. I inherited this property from my uncle John Charles England, King of Germany. I think contestants should not be allowed to wear weaves, extensions, or wigs such as Crystal Stewart Miss USA 2008. I’d like to know what she really looks like without the fake hair!
