American Idol’s Michael Johns - shock elimination.

American Idol has eliminated a surprise contestant, Michael Johns. For the first time in this season, he finished in the bottom three. Idol’s viewers cast the fewest votes for his rendition of “Dream On”; which was an Aerosmith song.

Michael, 29, said that he was very surprised. The judges had commented that his choices for his repertoire were not the best for him.

Besides Michael, this week’s two bottom finishers were Carly Smithson and Syesha Mercado. These two had been at the edge of their seats since they were at risk of elimination for the past few weeks.
