Jessica Simpson has appeared on the cover of Esquire, May 2008. She looked to be topless and her modesty was shielded by her raised hand. She did a mock shaving session for this cover shot. This was supposed to represent the new feminism where women did the men’s grooming like shaving.

This idea was first used way back in March, 1965. Jessica was told to do a replica of the original model’s photo.The classic original was done by Virna Lisi, an Italian actress in 1965. The art director for the shoot was George Lois. He said that he spoofed the women’s feminism movement with this photo. He revealed that an Italian model was used because there were no American beauties who dared to pose for this in 1965.
