Jay-Z has historic $150 million deal with Live Nation.
Posted on April 5, 2008Jay-Z has left his record label and signed the biggest record deal in history with Live Nation. He would get $150 million in the contract. The current trend suggested that superstar celebrities would make more money touring than by recording CDs. Jay-Z has made a complete turnaround in this career move.
The unorthodox deal showed the shifting of tide. Jay-Z would have a lot more control over recording, music publishing, distribution, licensing, touring and marketing. Jay-Z’s chain of sports bars would also have a higher profile and benefit. Jay-Z has named his new venture as Roc Nation. Live Nation and Roc Nation would split profits equally.
