Madonna in Casablanca re-make.
Posted on March 30, 2008Madonna is hogging the limelight again. She has revealed that she would do a re-make of the classic Casablanca and set the location in Iraq. She wanted to do the role of Ilsa Lund. A big Hollywood studio was asked to make the film that was a project of Madonna’s.

Casablanca in 1942 had Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in the leading roles.
The people who have analyzed this believed that Madonna was desperate to make her cut as a good actress. There was a huge discrepancy in the casting. The original actress, Ingrid Bergman, was in her 20s when she played Ilsa in Casablanca. Madonna is nearing 50 and she thought she could assume the role meant for a younger woman. Madonna was confident that she could look and act like a 20 year old.
When Madonna’s project was offered for potential buyers, one of them spoke out and told the press about it. Madonna’s spokeswoman had refused to comment directly on this.
