David Beckham made history.
Posted on March 28, 2008Wednesday night on Mar. 26 was a historic event for David Beckham, his family, England and the world. David earned his 100th cap for England. He became the fifth player in England’s history to do so. Other footballers who achieved this were Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Billy Wright and Peter Shilton. David’s large family came to watch and they sat in a special section.
Beckham said that he was overjoyed at this event playing at the friendly match against France. He wanted to prove that he was fit enough to continue playing football. He said he would not stop at 100. David wore his special golden colored boots, called Goldenboots.
David received a gold colored cap to commemorate his 100 caps for England. The only dark cloud to dampen the mood was when David got a yellow card for a foul on France’s Franck Ribery.
