Beatles’ back catalog available on iTunes soon.
Posted on March 8, 2008Paul McCartney officially signed the release of the Beatles’ back catalog on iTunes. This deal was expected to fetch him $400 million. This online release was predicted as the music industry’s biggest money earner. It was rumored that Paul would use some of the millions to pay his ex-wife, Heather Mills.
This deal would benefit not only Paul but also Ringo Starr and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison. The money would be split because of some complicated deals. EMI, Sony and Michael Jackson own the recording or publishing rights to Beatles’ songs. It was not clear how much each beneficiary would eventually get.
Paul McCartney and Heather Mills have divorced and the details of their settlement would be released soon.
