Drew Barrymore donates $1 Million.

Drew Barrymore donated $1 Million out of her own pocket. Her money would go towards World Food Program to buy food for school children in Kenya. Drew handed her check to Oprah Winfrey in her Oprah Winfrey show.
Drew played with the children when she visited them in Africa.
Drew said that she had witnessed how essential food was in a child’s life. She had traveled to Kenya twice in her work as a World Food Program ambassador against hunger. Her donation would kick start the WFP’s $3 billion “Fill The Cup” campaign. This drive aimed to feed 50 million hungry children in developing countries for a year.
Drew’s best friend, Cameron Diaz, made a special telephone to Drew during Oprah’s show. Drew and Cameron were overcome by emotion. Justin Long, Drew’s boyfriend, was in the audience during the show. He praised Drew for being the most compassionate person he had ever met.
