One of the best performances from Sunday night’s Grammy Awards function was that of Beyonce, 26, and Tina Turner, 68. Tina came out of retirement to sing a duet with Beyonce. It was Tina’s first stage appearance in 7 years. Tina won a Grammy for her participation in Herbie Hancock’s surprise album of the year, “River: The Joni Letters.”

Tina and Beyonce sang “Proud Mary”, Tina’s Grammy winner in 1972. John Fogerty, the songwriter-rocker, who was responsible for the song, was also in the audience.

Tina retired from touring in 2000 when she said that she refused to do stage antics that were not dignified. She had been staying in Europe with her German boyfriend, Erwin Bach.

Beyonce sang her own solos too in a different costume that showed a little of her cameltoe.
