Jay-Z

Jay-Z has been named in a $5 billion lawsuit because he had business links with property developer Bruce Ratner and Barclays Bank. Clive Campbell, a campaigner, claimed that Bruce Ratner’s $4 billion project in the construction of a new Barclays sponsored arena for the New Jersey Nets basketball team, has something dishonorable about it. He claimed that the project was profiting from the African slave trade.

Clive Campbell had notified the Da Black Defense League last October that the Barclays Bank might be having links to the African Slave Trade but no claims were proven to be true. These two named were seeking compensation for slavery reparations. Bruce Ratner’s company has dismissed the claims as having no merit.
