Marion proved that she was totally un-inhibited when she disrobed completely for her earlier movie, “Les Jolies Choses.”Another factor in her favor was that French cinema has very relaxed censorship and encouraged the exposure of various poses in “Les Jolies Choses.”

Did these factors weigh in the consideration for her Oscar for “La Vie En Rose” ? It seems odd that while beauty pageant queens may get fired for past indiscretions, actresses’ past flicks do not tar their chances at prestigious awards.
