Eight died as car ploughed into spectators.

In Accokeek, Maryland, a car drove into a crowd of spectators for a drag race on Saturday, Feb. 16. Police said that 8 were killed and another 5 injured in the very early morning 3:40 am accident.

The car, a white sedan, drove into the crowd of 50 as they were spilled on the highway. Another vehicle that drove along the same highway immediately after this accident may have hit another person as the driver tried to avoid the crash wreck.

The white car had a crumpled hood, front and roof. The driver was not seriously injured. It seemed that when the two cars raced off, they had created smoke. The crowd moved to stand on the road to watch the racing cars and did not expect that a car would approach. The police are investigating this accident.
