Scandal over Diablo Cody’s movie, “Juno.”
Posted on February 3, 2008Diablo Cody, 29, from Illinois, was a former stripper who turned to scriptwriting. Her film, Juno, will be released in UK on next Friday. The lead actress, Ellen Page, had won one of the four Academy Award nominations for Juno.
Juno was about a teenage mother who changed her mind against abortion after a chance encounter with picketing anti-abortionists. The movie was in favor of teen pregnancy and has evoked angry reactions from pro-choice activists, feminists and the religious Right wing people.
The pro-choice camp criticized Juno as being “naïve, unrealistic and irresponsible.” The feminists and religious Right criticized Diablo Cody for her past as a stripper/phone sex operator.

i assumed Juno was directed by the same guy that directed Knocked Up because it’s about an unexpected pregnancy, and Michael Cera stars as Juno’s boyfriend (he was one of the goofy kids from Superbad, a close relative of Knocked Up), but it turns out this is not the case
