Todd Paris, a lawyer, was caught by his judge, Kevin Eddinger, reading a Maxim magazine that had its cover featuring a topless Heidi Montag. Judge Eddinger was angry with Todd and gave him a chance to explain himself before he passed a sentence on him.

Todd said sorry and explained that he did not intend to show contempt of court. He said that the magazine was not porn and was available for sale at stores. Todd said that he had folded the cover of the magazine and nobody could see it but the judge turned down that excuse.
The rest of the court room did not understand what the fuss was about until the judge showed them the magazine’s cover. The people started laughing.
Judge Eddinger fined Todd $300, in addition to the 15 day suspended jail sentence and a year of unsupervised probation.
