New movies – Jan. 18, 2008.
Posted on January 18, 2008There are 8 new movies that would open today or this weekend. Here is a brief review of each one of them.
1. 27 dresses.
Jane has been a bridesmaid many times over and she was going to be another bridesmaid at her sister Tess’ wedding. Then, Jane suddenly has the urge to get married. We would have to watch the movie to find out which sister gets married first. Cast: Katherine Heigl, Malin Akerman.
2. Cassandra’s dream.
Two brothers found themselves manipulated by a woman who had her selfish motives in mind. She persuaded them to commit a crime to get some money. Cast: Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor.
3. Cloverfield.
Rob and Jason were two brothers having a farewell party for Rob’s move when suddenly, a huge monster attacked NYC. Rob received an SOS call from his ex-girlfriend. He and his group of friends became heroes when they answered her call for help. Cast: Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, Odette Yustman.

4. Day Zero.
Three young men were being drafted into service. The lawyer, cab driver and writer examined their consciences and questioned the sense of having to fight for a cause they did not believe in. Cast: Chris Klein, Elijah Wood, Jon Bernthal.
5. Mad Money.
Three women hatch a plot to steal money that had been marked for destruction by the Federal Reserve. Cast: Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, Katie Holmes.
6. Still Life.
Two separate individuals searched for their loved ones and during this process, asked themselves if they really desired to re-connect to their past. Cast: Tao Zhao, Sanming Han.
7. Taxi To The Dark Side.
This was a documentary on the Afghan cab driver who was shot and killed by U.S. infantry.
8. Teeth.
A teenager tried to hide her sexuality in her school’s chastity group. One day, she was sexually assaulted and to her horror, she discovered that she had teeth in her genitals. These teeth were capable of biting! Cast: Jess Weixler.
