Story of Steve Wright, suspected killer of 5 prostitutes.

Steve Wright, 49, from the UK, has been accused of murdering 5 women who worked as prostitutes. His trial has started. Steve was a forklift truck driver. He toured Ipswich’s famous red light district when his girlfriend, Pamela Wright, was at night shift work at a call center.

Steve Wright denied killing Gemma Adams, 25, Tanis Nicol, 19, Anneli Alder-ton, 24, Paula Clennell, 24, and Annette Nicholls, 29. These women were drug users and worked as prostitutes to feed their drug addictions. Their nude bodies were discovered around Christmas in 2006. They were killed in the same ways – strangled/smothered.
After the first 2 women had disappeared, police spotted Steve Wright cruising the red light district in his car and stopped him for questioning. They did not find cause to detain him. Steve Wright supposedly continued killing another 3 women until he was arrested.

Strong evidence had been found against him. Samples of DNA found on the dead bodies of Miss Alderton, Miss Nicholls and Miss Clennell matched the samples provided by Steve Wright. Miss Clennell’s body had fibers of clothing which were matched to Steve Wright’s clothing.
