A school girl was left in a critical condition after a gang of boys raped her. They threw caustic soda over her body to delete off DNA evidence. The girl, 16, suffered horrific acid burns and was hospitalized in a specialist burns unit.
The local police were said to be sickened by this crime in Tottenham, North London. The gang had physically assaulted the girl before raping her in turns. Neighbors heard the girl’s cries. One of them, a woman police officer, found her and helped to treat her pain until the paramedics arrived.
The girl was so seriously injured that her doctors thought that she would not live. She was too ill to talk and the police said they would have to wait before interviewing her. They had charged a 17 year old teenage boy on the suspicion of causing the attack.
