Sting and Police are dirty.
Posted on January 9, 2008Sting and his band, the Police, were blamed by environmentalists for dirtying the atmosphere. They had fast cars that burned up fuels and they used energy deficient, private jets when they traveled. Their huge mansions consumed energy in maintenance and their concerts released tons of carbon emissions.
The Police band was singled out because their large scale world tour involved 1.5 million fans who would travel many millions of miles to attend the performances at 100 destinations. Each traveler would leave a carbon imprint and not every traveler would buy carbon off sets to replace the harm caused by the emission of green house gases.
If the venue of the concert was one where public transport was accessible, then there might be reduced carbon emissions with shared transportation.
