The Show Will Go On for Jamie Lynn’s ‘Zoey 101′
Posted on January 4, 2008TV network reps are denying reports Jamie Lynn Spears’ show Zoey 101 has been cancelled following her pregnancy announcement. They are insisting the final season will be broadcast as planned.
The fourth series of the series on the children’s TV network Nickelodeon was allegedly under threat after news broke last month (Dec07) that 16-year-old Spears was expecting a baby. However, Nickelodeon has confirmed it will be broadcasting the show on February (08) as originally scheduled.
Spokesman Dan Martinsen says, “No truth to that rumor. We have not made any change to our schedule.” Martinsen also downplayed rumors of a special Nickelodeon news special addressing the Spears pregnancy. He adds, “There is no Nick News special scheduled at this time.”
Maybe reps should reconsider not offering Zoey fans an explanation about Lynn’s controversial pregnancy. My eight-year-old son mentioned that he heard that Zoey was going to have a baby while listening to the news. Kids hear a lot in the media and the kids network has some responsibility to sort some of this out. A special program could be a great teaching opportunity.
