Celebrity tops iTunes U chart.

Professor Walter Lewin, 71, physics professor, has been crowned as the latest internet celebrity. His tutorials were widely downloaded and his fame spread like wildfire. He performed and recorded his physics experiments. His recordings were so popularly downloaded that he has topped the iTunes chart.

Walter Lewin works at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). MIT offered his lectures online for downloading and he has grabbed the top position for the most popular at iTunes U. He has an international fan base.

Walter’s appeal lies in making physics come alive with demonstrations. He experiments on himself as the live subject. If another participant is required, he would use a stuffed toy. People just love his combination of geek and humor.
