Joss Stone will sell sexy treats.

Joss Stone wants you to buy Cadbury’s Flake chocolate. Joss, 20, will be the new face to sell Flake in Spring, 2008. Sales had been declining in recent years and it was hoped that Joss Stone would bring her magic into reversing this downward trend. There were newer brands of chocolates and consumers were caught in the competition.

The Flake commercials were stopped in 2004 because of widespread protests over the portrayal of sexy women biting into Flake chocolates. There was too much sex appeal in the suggestive expressions of the woman biting into the chocolate bar. Flake hired Joss Stone because the spokesperson said she reflected the “Flake girl’s attitude to life.”
