Barbara Walters Sick of Britney and Paris
Posted on December 8, 2007Barbara Walters is most well-known for her hard-hitting interviews with the world’s most famous people. She has brought to television some of the most sought-after interviews with celebrities - including Michael Jackson and former White House intern Monica Lewinsky. The award-winning journalist recently told press that she’s sick of starlets Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.
Walters, a pioneering newswoman became the first female U.S. network news anchor 30 years ago and has interviewed every U.S. president since Richard Nixon. Before her annual show, “The 10 Most Fascinating People,” which aired on ABC on Thursday, the 78-year-old television journalist said she wants to focus on topics other than tabloid headline grabbers.
“I am not going after the tabloid stuff, I don’t do it,” she said in an interview.
She said her latest special, “10 Most Fascinating People Of The Year”, didn’t even contemplate Britney Spears or Paris Hilton as possibilties for the list.
Celebrities who were worthy of Walter’s list included Justin Timberlake, MySpace founder Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe, Katherine Heigl, Jennifer Hudson, Don Imus, Bill Clinton, Hugo Chavez, and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
