Wilbur Ray Todd Jr. recently purchased the Surry County, Va., property that was once the home base of NFL quarterback Michael Vick’s dogfighting operation. Todd bought the 4,608-square-foot home to renovate and to hopefully make a profit at an auction planned next month.

The five-bedroom, 4 1/2 -bathroom white-brick home, which sits on 15 acres, down a rural county road, was custom built in 2003 for Vick to be the home base for Bad Newz Kennels. Its assessed value is $747,000. Todd purchased it for $450,000.

Mickael Vick is currently being housed at The Northern Neck Regional Jail until his sentencing on a federal dogfighting charge in three weeks. He faces up to five years in prison. He turned himself into authorities earlier this week.
