Dennis Quaid’s brand new twins were accidentally given a fatal overdose of Heparin, a blood anti-coagulant. This drug functions to prevent blood clots and flush out IV lines. The recommended dose is 10 units for babies but each twin has received 10,000 units.

The twins have been named as Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace. They were at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, when this happened.

The medical staff made a mistake and administered two doses of Heparin. Each twin received a dose on Sunday morning and another dose on Sunday evening. By the same night, both newborns were suffering. They were bleeding. They were immediately placed in the neo-natal ICU (intensive care unit). Currently, their condition is stable.
