Keira Knightley showed signs of cracking up in The Duchess.

Keira Knightley failed to get her expressions right despite 17 takes filming for the movie, The Duchess. It was only a simple scene with 2 lines of dialogue but she could not achieve what the director asked for. Keira’s scene involved a conspiracy between a male character and herself. She had to express secrecy, daring and the right attitude to get the mood. The director ordered re-takes because he was dissatisfied.
Keira remained in her uncomfortable costume throughout her ordeal and she cold not sit because of the skirt. She squatted on the floor and appeared moody. A crew had to fetch a special chair that allowed her long skirt to be seated. She sulked alone until a handsome crew went to cheer her up and she finally let her dark clouds be lifted away.
