Fred Claus is Santa Claus’ brother and he has to repay his debt to Nicolas (Santa Claus). In order to do this, he works at the toy factory and some funny things happen.

Tom Cruise acts as a Senator who entices a journalist with fame and fortune. Another parallel plot has Robert Redford as a professor who desires to inspire his student, played by Andrew Garfield.

NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN

3. NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN

Josh Brolin plays a man who picks up $2 million from a truck but ends up being pursued by the owners.

Rachel Nicols plays a young woman who becomes the unwary victim of a stalker. She makes herself her own victim of circumstance as she works late and ends up being the last one to leave her office. Her stalker takes this opportunity to strike.

SAAWARIYA

5. SAAWARIYA

This movie has a Bollywood cast but it is listed in the movie page. So its review is included here too. Salman Khan is a recluse who meets a beautiful woman, played by Ranbir Kapoor. He changes his personality as he falls in love with the woman.

STEAL A PENCIL FOR ME

6. STEAL A PENCIL FOR ME

This is a documentary of how Jack Polak fell in love with Ina Soep. Jack’s wife forbids him to see Ina even when all three of them are imprisoned in the Nazi concentration camp during the German occupation. Jack and Ina then carry on their love affair through secret love letters.

WAR/DANCE

7. WAR/DANCE

This is a documentary on refugees from Northern Uganda. Dominic, Rose and Nancy overcome all odds to regain their freedom away from their hated refugee camp.

AFTER DARK HORRORFEST 2

These horror movies belong to the horror festival – Borderland, Crazy Eights, The Deaths of Ian Stone, Lake Dead, Mulberry Street, Nightmare Man, Tooth & Nail and Unearthed. These reviews are included in a separate section below.

Borderland

Brian Presley, Jake Muxworthy, Rider Strong play three young Americans who decide to have a last post-graduation party in the wrong place (Mexico).

Six friends mourn their 7th friend’s death. They honor the deceased’s death wish to seek out a certain time capsule. They discover horrors that change their lives forever. The cast are: Traci Lords, Frank Whaley, Dina Meyer, Gabrielle Anwar, George Newbern and Dan DeLuca.

The Deaths of Ian Stone

  1. The Deaths of Ian Stone.

Mike Vogel plays the unlucky Ian Stone who gets caught in a trap. He is killed once a day and resurrected into the same life the next day. Ian does not understand why he is forced into this cycle of death and rebirth. He searches for the solution…

Three sisters and their companions travel to the South to live in their grandfather’s house that has been bequeathed to them. However, a family of psychotic killers has decided to occupy the house and kick out the rightful owners.

The rat plague descends upon NYC (New York City). One apartment block of residents fight their war to keep the rats and human disease carriers at bay.

Nightmare Man

  1. Nightmare Man.

Gwen Davis plays a bored wife who uses the wrong kind of sex enhancement mask and ends up being possessed by a spirit.

This is set sometime after an apocalypse. The good survivors live in a secret hiding place. Soon, their predators sniff them out and zoom in for the kill.

Unearthed

  1. Unearthed.

An ancient curse that has been unearthed wrecks havoc on a town in New Mexico. The sheriff has the unenviable task of destroying the evil monster.
