Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll has donated $45 million to charity. She announced this at Friday’s Clinton Global Initiative meeting. This money comes from her foundation, named “Latin America in Solidarity Action”. $40 million goes into the purse strings of Nicaragua and Peru for the relief of natural disasters and their victims. $5 million is allocated to education for children in Latin America. These are in addition to the yearly sum of around $55 000 which she gladly donates to charity.

Shakira has a recorded IQ of 140 but has neglected her formal schooling due to the demands of a career in show biz. She tries to study and attend short courses in her free time.

Shakira is rumored to be engaged to Antonio de la Rúa, 24, the son of an ex-president of Argentina, Fernando de la Rúa. Antonio wisely left politics after his father’s presidency term ended. He has been dating Shakira since 2000. They are engaged but have not announced formal wedding plans yet.
