David Beckham appeared visibly upset. It was raining cats and dogs down his face.
David Beckham, 32, catapults at a flying run back to home base, London, to be at the bedside of his critically ill father, Ted, 59. David and his father are estranged after Ted divorced Sandra, David’s mother, in 2002.

Posh Victoria Beckham walks fashionably through an airport in Japan to catch her flight into the U.K.
Victoria Beckham is less visibly moved but has acceded to abandon the planned launch of her new cosmetics brand in Japan. She flew into London, presumably to support David or protect her vested interests as Ted takes her place as the apple of David’s eye and pocketbook.
Sources close to David whisper that he is guilt ridden and shocked to the point of being a rambling talker, something akin to what was reported about Britney Spears’ habit of chattering. David defends his father’s sudden turn for the worse. He blames Ted’s major heart attack as a deterioration of health after working long and hard at his gas engineering job.
