The Hollaback Girl, Gwen Stefani, presented her new L.A.M.B spring ‘08 collection during NY fashion week with rave reviews from critics. The clothing line ranged from retro mod frocks to wearable sheath dresses. Stefani was inspired by a combination of Jamaican rastafarians, English school girls and Orange County, California teens. L.A.M.B., which stands for Love, Angel, Music, Baby, the title of her first solo album, has been one of the few celebrity brands to find success at high-end retailers. The L.A.M.B. line debuted two years ago during Fashion Week 2005.
Stefani remains humble despite her amazing abilities to manage careers in fashion and music as well as family. She says, “We’re still learning, but we also have accomplished stuff that shocks me. I don’t want to brag, but I’m feeling pretty proud of a lot of this.”
Attendees at Stefani’s unveiling included Eve, P.Diddy, Carrie Underwood, Shirley Manson, MAC Cosmetics President John Demsey and actress Sophia Bush. Also in the audience with front row seating was Stefani’s hubby Gavin Rosedale with their eighteen-month-old son, Kingston.
Mac Cosmetics held a L.A.M.B. pre-party which was hosted by Gwen’s good friend rapper Eve. New York Fashion Week, the first round of the international designer shows for spring/summer 2008, continues until September 12th and will be followed by London Fashion Week which opens on Saturday, September 15th.
