What’s on (or off) for Britney Spears.

Britney Spears will open this year’s MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday in Las Vegas. She will sing “Gimme More”, the first single from her latest album, slotted to be released on November 13.

If Spears’ previous VMA openings are anything to go by, we can hold our breaths in anticipation of what surprise she has in store for us. In 2000, she exposed celebrity skin in a partial strip tease. 2001 had her singing in her modern mock up version of Eve and the seductive albino python. 2003 was ablaze with speculations resulting from her on stage open mouth smooch with Madonna. What else is there to see when she has shown us just about everything?

Spears has hogged the limelight in her not-so-private life. Even a mundane shopping trip down to the convenience store to grab munchies sets off a blazing trail of paparazzi and smoky signals that only the imaginative can decipher. Plus, we’re guessing her pantry is bare for force of habit or she enjoys the headlights in her face.
